Service Description
COURSE OVERVIEW: Comics to Screen is an eight-week, live, instructor-led course designed for writers, creators, and producers who want to build original intellectual property that functions as a valuable, expandable asset across comics, film, and television. The course treats comics as the master expression of IP — not a proof of concept — teaching students how strong comics naturally become adaptable, marketable, and durable across media. This course blends creative development with real industry literacy. Students learn not only how to craft compelling characters and stories, but how those stories are evaluated, packaged, and positioned in professional comics, film, and television environments. FORMAT • Eight weeks of live weekly instruction (1.5–2 hours per session) • Global cohort • All sessions recorded and shared with enrolled students DURATION: 8 weeks WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR Screen/ TV writers who want to build original, ownable IP Comic or graphic novel creators ready to make their work more adaptable and marketable Novelists interested in developing expandable worlds for multiple formats Writers and creators with one or more strong ideas who want professional development, structure, and accountability Not required: professional experience, a finished script, or artistic training. Recommended: at least one idea you’re excited to develop over the eight-week arc. REQUIREMENTS Stable internet connection Google Docs, Word, Pages or any writing software A willingness to pitch, revise, and collaborate FINAL COURSE OUTCOMES By the end of the course, students will have: • A clearly articulated comic or graphic novel concept • A professional logline and elevator pitch • A completed two-page pitch document • A practical understanding of comics publishing, marketing, and adaptation pathways • A transferable pitching skillset applicable to comics, film, and television • A story foundation designed for long-term, multi-format growth. A deposit of $200 is required to reserve your place in the class. The remaining $600 will be collected via e-mail link. Payment must be completed before the start of class.
