Professional Dramatic Writing
Story, Character, and Structure for Entertainment Writers
Great drama isn’t accidental.
It’s built through an understanding of story structure, character psychology, conflict, and escalation through a repeatable process used by professional writers working in entertainment.
Professional Dramatic Writing is an 8-week, live online writing course designed for writers working in or interested in film, television, comics, games, narrative podcasts, theater, and even novel writing. The course teaches how dramatic stories actually work, and how professionals approach the craft across entertainment and narrative mediums. Through writing, workshopping, and group engagement, the course focuses on the essential building blocks of dramatic writing: structure, crafting characters, clear stakes, and meaningful conflict that drives a story forward. Students learn how to construct dramatic work intentionally so their writing is not only expressive, but engaging, producible, and effective across formats.
